Suitability matters. Dermaplaning is not recommended over active, inflamed or cystic acne, open lesions, sunburn, or while using strong resurfacing treatments. For congested or acne-prone skin our Deep Cleansing Treatment is the better choice.

What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation treatment. A sterile, single-use blade is held at a controlled angle and swept across the skin to remove the top layer of dead skin cells together with fine vellus hair, also known as peach fuzz. At Budapest Skincare it is a 60 minutes treatment that finishes with a soothing serum and SPF.
Will my facial hair grow back thicker or darker?
No. Dermaplaning only removes vellus hair, which is biologically different from coarse terminal hair. Cutting hair at the surface does not change the follicle, so it grows back at the same rate, thickness and colour as before. It can feel slightly blunter for a day or two as it regrows, which is often mistaken for thicker hair.
Is dermaplaning safe for sensitive or acne-prone skin?
Dermaplaning suits most skin types, including sensitive skin, because it uses no acids or heat. We do not recommend it over active, inflamed or cystic acne, open lesions, sunburn, active rosacea flare-ups, or if you use isotretinoin or strong resurfacing products. For congested and acne-prone skin, deep cleansing or our anti-acne protocol is the better option. Tell us about your routine and any medication before booking.
Does dermaplaning hurt?
No. Most clients describe it as a light brushing or scratching sensation on the surface of the skin. There are no needles, no heat and no numbing cream needed. The blade only works on the outermost layer, so the treatment is comfortable from start to finish.
How much does dermaplaning cost in Budapest?
At Budapest Skincare, dermaplaning costs 25,000 HUF / 65 € for a 60 minutes treatment in District 7. The price includes cleansing, the full blade exfoliation, a soothing hydrating finish and SPF protection.
Will my face be red afterwards, and can I wear makeup?
Light redness or a warm feeling is normal and usually settles within a few hours. Because the skin is freshly exfoliated, it is best to keep makeup minimal for the first day. Most clients look their best one to three days after the treatment, so book a few days before an event rather than the morning of it.
How often should I have dermaplaning?
Every 4 to 6 weeks fits the natural skin renewal cycle for most clients. That is often enough to keep the texture smooth without over-exfoliating. If your skin is sensitive, we may space sessions further apart.
Dermaplaning or HydraFacial — which should I choose?
Choose dermaplaning if your main concerns are rough texture, dullness and peach fuzz, and you want instant smoothness. Choose HydraFacial if you want deep hydration, gentle suction-based pore cleansing and a plumped glow. They complement each other well: dermaplaning first, then a hydrating facial at a later appointment.
